About
A Ladin-speaking valley in the Dolomites holding Corvara, La Villa, San Cassiano, Badia and Colfosco, with about 130km of its own piste on 53 lifts and a place on the Sellaronda circuit. Inside Dolomiti Superski, the largest linked lift pass in the world. ⚠️ Ladin is the valley's own language and German is widely spoken — most guests come from Germany and Austria, so German is worth more than Italian for guest-facing work.

Common Seasonal Jobs
Languages Required
- Visa Requirements
- EU/EEA citizens can work freely under EU freedom of movement. Non-EU citizens need an Italian seasonal work permit (nulla osta for seasonal work), which requires employer sponsorship and falls under Italy's seasonal quotas (decreto flussi). UK citizens post-Brexit require a work permit.
- Recruitment Timeline
- Hotels recruit from August for a December start. The valley's hotel stock skews upmarket and several kitchens hold Michelin stars, so experience counts for more here than in a big resort.

Staff Housing Available
- Public Transport
- Bus to Brunico (1 hr) or Bolzano (1.5 hrs) for mainline trains. The Sella and Campolongo passes close in winter; the valley road does not.
Nearby Towns
Corvara
0 km awayThe main village of Alta Badia at 1,568m, under Sassongher, and one of the four places you can start the Sellaronda from — four Dolomite passes skied in a day, straight from the village. About 1,440 permanent residents support a hotel sector far larger than that number suggests. ⚠️ Ladin is the everyday language, not a heritage one: the 2024 language census recorded 87% of residents declaring Ladin as their mother tongue, against 10% Italian and 3% German. Most guests are German-speaking, so for guest-facing work German is worth more than Italian, and Italian alone will not get you far with colleagues either.

Working a season here
Practical guides for seasonal workers, with every figure counted from the listings open right now.
- Can you do two ski seasons in one year?Northern and southern winters barely overlap. The constraints are visas and the gap between them, not the calendar.
- What should you ask before accepting a ski season job? Most adverts leave out the things that decide whether a season works. Counted from live listings, and what to ask instead.
- Is a ski season worth it, and can you save money?Accommodation decides it more than the hourly rate. How to work out your own number rather than trusting anyone else's.
