A small village at the mouth of Sinclair Canyon, where the highway enters Kootenay National Park. Named for the mineral pools just up the canyon, known locally for the bighorn sheep that wander through town, and used as an accommodation and golf base for the Columbia Valley.

- This is a cheap place to live and an inconvenient place to work a ski season — do not take a Panorama job from here without a winter-ready car. If you want a summer season in the Rockies, though, it is one of the better bases going.
