- Trail Regional Airport (YZZ) is ~15km, Castlegar (YCG) ~45km, and Spokane (GEG) ~2.5hr south is what most international staff actually fly into.
- Road Conditions
- Highway 3B over the Blueberry-Paulson and Kootenay passes is a serious winter drive and closes for avalanche control. Winter tyres legally required Oct–Apr.

- Late October or early November. Hiring runs through autumn and the best shared houses go before December.

- Insider Tips
- Look at Trail for housing before you decide Rossland is unaffordable — it is ten minutes down the hill and a different market. RED's terrain is far bigger than the lift count suggests, and the cat-skiing operation behind it is the cheapest lift-accessed powder in the country.
