About

Canterbury's premier ski field, consistently voted New Zealand's best ski resort by World Ski Awards. Operated by NZSki, Mt Hutt sits on the eastern edge of the Southern Alps offering incredible panoramic views across the Canterbury Plains to the Pacific Ocean. Known for its early opening (often the first resort in NZ to open) and reliable snow thanks to altitude and snowmaking. The base town of Methven is a charming rural Canterbury community. While the ski area itself is smaller than northern hemisphere resorts, the terrain is varied and the snow quality excellent.
